Blue Water Options

Reel peace offers several options when it comes to blue water fishing. We will be happy to help you make the best possible decision about which trip will yield the best possible results during a certain time frame. Our goal is to provide the best and most successful trip for you, our Guest.

Full Day Tuna Trips

These trips are what we built our reputation on. We leave the dock at safe light and return 10-12 hours later. Due to our close proximity to deep water, Venice is one of the few places in the world where you can catch a quality yellow fin every day of the year on a day trip. We run our day tuna trips everyday of the year and achieve great success on them, frequently filling fish boxes before the day is up. Our primary methods of fishing on these trips change seasonally and consist of Live bait fishing, chunking, Casting top water plugs and trolling.

Overnight Tuna Trips

Some days you just want to fish in the cooler night hours. We generally leave the dock in the mid afternoon and return late the following morning. We spend the entire night fishing for tuna, not something for the faint of heart. While it is rare to catch truly huge yellow fin at night, we regularly catch big numbers of fish. Our primary methods of fishing are Live baiting, chunking, Casting top water plugs and Jigging.

Overnight Sword fishing

Capt's Peace and Devlin Caught their first Swordfish several years ago and have pioneered the fishery in the Central Gulf ever since. Our captains have caught more Swordfish than all of the other local captains combined. We leave the dock late in the afternoon and spend the night drifting for the mighty gladiator of the deep. This is a fishery that is still developing, and our success rates are very high. We have had many nights with double digit bites and have caught some true Sea monsters while doing this, this may well be the most exciting trip of your life.

Full Day Trolling

Trolling the fertile waters of the Mississippi River Delta will often times yield a mixed bag of Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna, and Billfish. There are many opportunities throughout the year to spend a day trolling, whether it be in the Winter for trophy Wahoo or in the summer for Blue and White Marlin. This style of fishing will often be mixed into a day time tuna trip to spice things up.

Fly fishing

We enjoy the thrill of the chase with the thrill of the chase with the long rod and have produced several record fish on fly. Whether you are looking to do battle with yellowfin or trophy bonita, Venice provides a year-round fishery. In fact, some of our best opportunities present themselves in the dead of Winter, when most long rodders have put the idea of fishing out of there head for the year.

Near Shore Options

Bottom Fishing

Once again, due to Venice's proximity to deep water, we enjoy some spectacular bottom fishing. We routinely fish for trophy red snapper, Mangrove snapper, big Grouper, Amberjack and Cobia. We usually pick up other assorted species along the way as well. We leave the dock at safe light an return in the mid to late afternoon

Inshore Options

Island Wading Trips

All of the captains at Reel Peace share a passion for wading for trout, redfish and flounder on the western end of the Chandelier Island Chain. The fishing usually kicks off in late April or early May and last through September. please note that this is wade fishing and the boat is only for transport purposes. To catch fish you must wade!

Bull Red Trips

The mouths of our Passes hold Red fish of Epic proportions. We regularly see days where we catch double digit numbers of redfish over 35 pounds. These fish provide a huge challenge on light tackle. The best part is that these fish are here year round. We do choose to release most of the bull reds and hope that you choose to do so as well. We are looking forward to a dynamic fishery for many years to come.

Traditional Inshore Trips

Reel Peace works very closely with several of the most talented inshore guides in the area and would be happy to set up a day of inshore fishing for you. We will only book you with a talented and courteous guide. You will fish out of a 22-24 foot Skeeter bay boat and be furnished with high quality tackle. The boats fish up to three anglers and several boats are available. The trips leave at first light and return 4-6 hours later. You can expect to catch Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder.

Duck Hunting

Mississippi River Delta Duck Hunts are down and dirty hard core duck hunts. Because of our tide fluctuations and the mobility of our ducks, we rarely hunt from blinds, choosing rather to hunt from Pirogues (small flat bottom canoe style boats.) You will hunt over well trained dogs with knowledgeable guides. You can expect to shoot Teal, Gadwalls, Widgeon, Summer Mallards, and Pintail with assorted other birds often making up the bag. Venice may well be your best shot at taking a wall hanger Pintail Drake. All hunters must provide there own Gun, waders, shells, and camouflage. We recommend a 12 gauge capable of 3 1/2 inch shells for when the Geese get a little too close. All duck hunts can be coupled with an afternoon of fishing to make up the traditional La. Blast and cast. We will hunt wherever in the delta that provides the best opportunity for the day.
