November 2007 Update
We may not yet be back to 100 percent but Venice is much more comfortable than it was last winter. I think that you can take us off of your adventure travel list now although we may not yet make the luxury list yet.
Venice Marina has a restaurant that stays open until 9:00 pm most nights and the Black Velvet restaurant in Buras is open a bit later most nights. I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention the BBQ house, they serve some great BBQ but there winter hours have yet to be set. Elzy’s convenience store is open until at least 8:30 pm and can supply most things that you may need from an impromptu meal to diesel. Venice Inn has reopened the hotel and Light House Lodge appears to be pretty close to opening as well. Of Course, Cypress Cove has been open since early Last April. We also have access to the all inclusive Cajun Fishing adventures lodge for our clients again this year. We will also have access to the ‘Wild Cat’ house boat this year. Many of you remember the “wild Cat” as our floating hotel when we returned to Venice. The Wild Cat will be available to groups looking for a more intimate option with all of the comforts of home. She sleeps 16 in 4 bunk rooms and has everything that you would need for a great trip.
