Just a quick two day report. The fishing this week has started out with a boom. Monday, Capt. Peace, Capt. Darryl and Myself set out in three different directions. Peace went hunting Dolphin and Snapper while Darryl and I went looking for Tuna. We all found what we were looking for. Peace and Crew had a cart full of 20-40 pound Dolphin from a nice rip and sweetend the box with some really nice Snapper and Aj's. Darryl with a nice box of Tuna. He said that they picled up one right away but it was afternoon before the bite really started. He added that when the bite started, it really started and they picked up 4 more really quickly and they were all in the 100 pound class. My crew and I focused on Yellowfin and we spiciffically went looking for the big ones that we had last week. It started out a bit slow with the busting fish ignoring our baits but that all changed when we hooked a nice 50 pounder on the popper. It took us a while to land him but when we got set up again, the fish decided to eat one of our baits. This was one of the ones that we were looking for. He was tough and it took a while but we finally put a solid 125 pounder in the box. After that, the current changed and the fish spread out. We ended up having to change fishing styles and got 3 more bites really quickly. Unfortunatly, we lost one into the rig cable and pulled the hook on one. We also added a few blackfin as a bonus.
I had the day off today but Darryl and Peace kept the ball rolling. Darryl went out to the same spot with the same crew and got on the Tuna right away but soon, the Dolphin were dieing to get in on the Action as well. They ended up with a box full of the red meat-White meat special. Peace and crew, with two youngsters in tow decided to do the Snapper and Dolphin combo. They had a great box of snapps and Dolphin and had a big Blue Marlin in the spread but saddly enough he didn't eat. I hate to say it but I am glad that it is not just me that is having a problem catching marlin this year, I was starting to take it personaly.
We will all be back at it tommrow, and I can't wait. We have an open boat on Thursday and Friday. Give us a call to get out and put some meat in the box.
