Spring has sprung! The tuna have begun their transition and the
warm weather fish are starting to show. Along
with that, the weather has started to fall into
traditional spring patterns. By that, I mean that
the forecast are never quite right. Friday was
supposed to be pretty nice. It was not. We did
not make it far on Friday before turning around.
Saturdy was supposed to be rough but we gave
it a shot anyway and that paid off big for us. I
had a short crew because after Friday, a few of
the guys prefered to stay on shore but the ones
that were brave got on some great fish. We
started out jigging and were steadily putting
blackfin and skipjack in the boat. I started to
chum with the skippies and the yellows started
to respond as well. Before it got too rough, we
had five yellowfin and a pile of blackfin in the
boat. While we were doing this, we saw a big
blue marlin working a school of skipjack. Spring
has sprung.
