The Tuna Action is heating up as thetemperature drops. I had the pleasure of fishing
with an old friend, Ward Cromwell and his
buddies Ben, Ray, and Mike for a couple of
days this week. The weather was downright
cold but the Tuna fishing was pretty hot. We
spent both days chumming and jogging and
both days has mixed bag catches of yellowfin
and blackfin. We also caught a very large
Lancett fish on Wednesday on a jig. that was a
first for me.
We still have openings next week. Give us a call
to plan your trip.

This weather is still keeping us on the dock butit looks like it may break on Sunday and we
have an opening. The wahoo should be stirred
up by this cold weather. Shakey baits should be
the key. Divers will probably outfish surface
baits until they get used to the chill. The surface
water near the passes is in the 50's but it is
warmer below the surface and the blue water is
70 but falling. The big tuna should be turning on
as well. We have an opening on Sunday as well
asost of next week for some hardcore
wintertime fishing.

It was a great Weekend for tuna in Venice, not so great for Ducks. Friday, I ran long and struggled a bit but wound up with two yellowfin and a bunch of blacks. The yellows were not big but they were yellows. Saturday was a completlely different day. We stayed relativly close and from the get go, the fish were on our baits. My crew was up to the task and we spent the next two hours doubled and trippled up on monster Blackfin and some really nice yellowfin. Rick and crew came ready for battle and battle, we did. We had one heck of a cockpit dance going on. We finnished the day with 2 dozen Blacks and two really nice Yellowfin, 100 and 138.On the way back in, we hit a sandbar right outside of Babtiste that was not there before this little storm. Be careful going in and out of Baptiste.
We have plenty of fall days avaliable and still have some prime Winter days avaliable as well. Give us a call to book your trip.

It looks like we dodges the bullet with Ida. The weather looks like it will turn in our favor for Friday and Saturday as well. We have an open boat both days. Hopefully this weekend will be like the days following Ivan when the fishing was off the charts good. Nobody has put any preasure on the tuna in a while and that should work in our favor. Give us a call if you are interested in doing some fishing this weekend.Reel Peace Charters
